Academic Year 2020-2021

 

  • TEDx NMIMS Bangalore 2021, the flagship event of the Public Relations Cell, The theme of the event was ‘Redefining Yardsticks’, revolving around the changing norms and roles around us. The event had an eminent panel of speakers which included Dalip Tahil, Pia Sutaria, Chetna Vasishth, Nabila Jamshed and many other speakers.
  • The flagship event of Paramarsh. The theme for the conclave was "Crossroads of Modern World: Technology and Democracy” and it revolved around drawing attention to major landscapes of corporate houses in India.
  • NSL auction is a flagship event of Lakshya Committee which is inspired from the IPL auction and marks the initiation of the yearlong sporting tournament. The managers of the four houses strategize and bid for the players to make a strong team.
  • Team Nirantar successfully conducted the first edition of Operations Conclave on the 31 st Jan 2021. We were elated to host our esteemed speakers from various industries namely Microsoft, Accenture, Raymond Consumer Care and Novozymes.
  • Under Fit India Movement, an initiative by our Prime Minister, Lakshya organised a fitness campaign from 10th to 12th December 2020 to motivate students to adopt a healthy lifestyle and pictures and videos of students performing various physical exercises.
  • MarGene’s Annual Flagship event where the most coveted keynote speakers delivered a talk on the theme ‘The ConCreate Confluence’ followed by an illuminative panel discussion on ‘Bolstering Benchmarque through trendsetting innovations in Product v/s Brand’.
  • E - Summit - An opportunity to interact with business tycoons and influential entrepreneurs was conducted by Club Equinox.
  • Top Talent event is the most sought-after event of HRiday. Here, we conduct mock GDs and PIs to get you a glimpse of the coming SIP processes and prepare you for them. TOP TALENT is the platform that will polish you for future hurdles and will make you stand apart from the rest of the crowd.
  • HRiday organized the ‘HR Symposium 2021’, the flagship event of HRiday which is marked by the presence of distinguished HR professionals every year, each sharing their insights on the current trends in the industry and giving us the opportunity to interact with them and learn from their first-hand experience in the corporate world.
  • Toastmaster crossed a huge milestone which is applause worthy, it hit the century and hosted its 100th meeting in a gala fashion where previous year’s batch students graced the occasion with their nostalgic experience. On the occasion of its 100th meeting Toastmaster club of NMIMS, Bangalore collaborated with the Toastmaster club of IIM Raipur to host a inter club debate competition which saw the immense participation.

 

Academic Year 2019-2020

 

  • Plantation Drive was also conducted by Team Udyam to create awareness and stimulate responsibility in all the students towards environment protection.
  • Udyam, the social responsibility committee started an initiative, "Joy of Giving Week”. A week long initiative that supports under privileged kids by gifting them necessities for their daily activities.
  • Adyot Kumar Srivastava and Poulami Dutta from NMIMS Bangalore, ranked 1 and 3 respectively in the "FinShiksha Learning Championship 2019” for Investing Banking.
  • Infosys hosted a 5K Run as a part of Infosys Ingenious. Students from NMIMS Bangalore had the opportunity to meet and talk to varied people and also test their fitness.
  • Lakshya, The Sports Committee organized NSL Football tournament with four houses taking part. Team Vikings came on top in an exciting battle in the finals with Team Spartans, which settled for Silver.
  • Udyam, The Social Responsibility Committee visited an NGO as a part of "Joy of giving month” to interact with the kids and help them meet their daily needs , which also gave students an opportunity to contribute to the society.
  • Nityaksh 2019, A three day cultural and management fest has come to a close with various management events with participants from pan India and the Cultural events ended with "Aastha Gill’s ” live performance.

  • Insignia, the Alumni committee came up with "Margadarsh” where the Alumni have interacted with students regarding specializations and how to holistically improve one’s self. We would like to thank our alumni, Mr. Singaram Ramasamy, Mr. Abdhullah Ahmed and Mr. Prateek Jain.
  • Mr. Prakash Dandoria, Ms. Nehal Mittal and Mr. Hemal Thobani hace interacted with the students on how stock market works. The students were introduced to in-depth understanding of CAN SLIM and few other concepts.
  • Lakshya, the Sports committee organized Carrom tournament. Samurais have taken the gold where, Akshay, Swetha and Surya performed exceptionally. Sarans and Pavan have taken silver, representing Vikings.
  • India’s 73rd Independence Day was celebrated with great fervour, enthusiasm and patriotism by the students. The college was beautifully decorated in the colours of the flag and all the students were in vibrant traditional attire.After the flag hoisting, an array of cultural programs were presented by the students. The day ended with everyone dancing to the DJ’s tunes and a fun filled kite-flying session. It was a grand success for the Rang, The Cultural Committee of NMIMS, Bangalore.
  • National Librarians’ Day celebrated on the 12th of August in remembrance of national professor of library science, Dr S R Ranganathan, who had lead the library development in India. To commemorate the same, the Academic Committee of NMIMS, Bangalore organized a book review competition wherein the students shared their insights on various books read by them. It was an interesting session and the winners of the Competition were Vaishali Bansal, Manasa Bharathi and Neha Sakuja.
  • For Lakshya, The Sports Committee, Carom was not just a game, it was a way to unite the students around the square board of happiness and strike all enmity into the pockets. With almost 8+ hours of battle among the four teams it was the longest Lakshya Event for this year till now. Despite losing or winning, everyone showed great sporting spirit with an exceptional display of focus and accuracy. The winners for the event were the House of Samurais.
  • HRiday – The HR Club, conducted mock Personal Interviews for PGDM 10 batch. This helped the batch prepare for their Summer Internships.
  • Paramarsh, The Strategy Club, conducted a case study competition named "Stratosphere 2019”. The winners are,
    • Team 1 -Abhishek Pandey and Aakansha Khandelwal
    • Team 2 – Auyon Bhattacharya and Sagar
  • Udyam, The Social Responsibility Club, organized "Walkathon 2019”, which focuses on the burning issue of saving our planet. This instilled a sense of responsibility in all the students.
  • Rang, the cultural committee, organized "Friendship Day” celebrations. It helped build a sense of bond amongst all the students.
  • Chalk The Walk – A poster making competition was conducted where the students put their creative minds to work encouraging Climate Change, our theme for Walkathon this year.
  • Lakshya, the Sports Committee organized chess tournament for PGDM 09 and PGDM 10 and the winner are, Rahul V(PGDM 10), Vineet (PGDM10), Shankesh M(PGDM 10)
  • Hriday, the HR club organized mock group discussions that helped each individual prepare for the upcoming Summer Internships.
  • Paramarsh, the Strategy committee has organized "Trade Adda”, a trading game which helped the students negotiate with other teams, the top 5 teams advanced to the next round.
  • Mod-Ex, the Business and Technology club organized Biz and Bytes, a puzzle game that was a combination of Quiz, scavenger hunt and analytical puzzle. The winners are, Rimpi Banerjee, Saurabh Pathak, Subhalaxmi Tripathy.
  • Intuito, the Analytics club organized Tableau workshop. The workshop is handled by Affecto Consulting Services, an education services firm. Tableau is a data visualization tool that makes data analysis quicker.
  • Mr. Kedar Kulkarni, Decision Architect from "Sapiens Technologies” had an interactive session with the students on the importance and opportunities in Artificial Intelligence.
  • "HRiday- The HR Club” of NMIMS conducted Top Talent, which prepares students for their summer placements with Group discussions and Personal Interviews.
  • Mr. Devang Sharma, Promotor of "Sports Kartail” shared his insights on Social Entrepreneurship and with students interacting about the opportunities in this sector.
  • Empire State by Team Nirantar- the Operations Club of NMIMS Bangalore, was a total success, most amazing part being the time when the participants had to run around the college for Scavenger Hunt and post that, the qualified teams played an exciting simulation game.
  • The most awaited Auction by Sports Committee of NMIMS Bangalore, Lakshya, took place where the teams made bids around the theme of the year "Clash of Clans”. NSL (Narsee Monjee Sports League) pushes the students to get a break from their hectic schedules.
  • Knowesis, the photography Club had a series of fun activities planned for the students ensuring they learn something new during the activities.
  • Preparing the students for their placements, our Alumni visited the campus especially to share their insights with the Senior PGDM Batch. This initiative was taken by Insignia, our Alumni Committee of NMIMS, Bangalore.
  • Mr. Aditya Kothari, co-founder of Plixr Technologies Pvt. Ltd enlightened us about various aspects of the corporate world and otherwise. The session was full of enthusiasm and the students present had a fun filled learning experience.
  • "Lakshya – The Sports Committee” of NMIMS which helps students break away from the regular academics, organized "Box Cricket” for both batches of PGDM.
  • Mr. Arun Babu, Lead- Talent Acquisition enlightened students on the challenges ahead in every industry and the need to upskill to stay in the competitive realm.
  • "Brand Bucket Challenge” an event conducted by "Margene, the Marketing Club” where students had to market various brands which helped them refresh and retune.
  • Induction Programme – NMIMS welcomed the Under Graduate students in fields of Bachelor’s of Business Administration and Bachelor’s in Science as they walk into a new world of thinking.
  • International Yoga Day was celebrated at NMIMS on 21st June, to help students understand the importance and benefits of Yoga. Yoga is a physical, mental, spiritual practice that originated in India and is practiced around the world.
  • Induction Programme – Narsee Monjeee Institute of Management Studies welcomed the 10th batch of Post Graduate Diploma in Management (2019-2021) as they pursue careers to expand their horizons.

  • Business Conclave 3.0 was held on 23rd of September at Hotel Radisson with the Theme "Challenging Cognizance”. Which witnessed over 100+ Corporate guests. Ten Eminent Speakers from different Industries have given their Insights on
  • The Finance Club at NMIMS Bangalore, in association with India Infoline ltd. and TATA AMC organized ‘Finology’ – a PAN India Case study competition that witnessed participation of over 1000 students from various B-Schools
  • The National Level Annual Cultural and Managerial Fest of NMIMS Bangalore Nityaksh VII was organised by RANG – Events & Cultural Committee, NMIMS Bangalore. The three day event which comprised of Various management and cultural events followed by Comedy night by Kunal Kamra and Nishant Suri enthralled the students from various Bschools with its exuberance and enthusiasm.
  • Mr. Arun Babu, Manager- Talent Acquisition, Merck Group has interacted with The students of NMIMS Bangalore
  • Miss Roomana Basha, The Founder of Ekdali Foundation brought the students of NMIMS back on track with a questionnaire which could not be googled.
  • Mr. Angshuman Ghosh, Data science and strategy leader at Target, with 11 years of experience in technology like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning etc.,enlightened the students about the role of Analytics in today’s world.
  • Mr. Uttam Rathod, from Toshiba Mitsubishi-Electric Industrial Systems Corporation were hosted by PGDM 09 batch. His insights into the world of HR has inspired the students.
  • Mr. Pramod Shah, Deputy Vice President of Talent and Business HR Head of TATA Capital, gave the Students an enlightening speech on how to groom themselves to be industry ready.
  • 29th Sept 2018 : Surgical Strikes Day:Surgical Strikes day was held on 29.09.2018 at NMIMS, Bengaluru. Mr. Ruben Motha from the Indian Navy(Retd.) sensitized the gathering in the event about the modalities involved in the Surgical Strike operations of the Indian Army against Pakistan in 2016. The students and staff of the Bangalore Campus attended the meet. Mr. Ruben Motha answered the questions raised by students on the technicalities of the surgical strike. Dr. Vinay Kumar, Director elaborately spoke on the topic "Surgical Strikes”.
  • SVKM’S NMIMS, Bangalore Campus is hosting the 1st International Conference on Economics and Finance, 2019 (ICEF-2019)
  • Lakshya- The Sports Committee of NMIMS, Bangalore, has organised their first event of NSL 2018, "Chess” on 5th of August 2018. Congratulations to the winners Bhrigu Roy and Ayush Sharma.
  • "Biz and Bytes”- A Competition which took back all the students back to the 90’s was organised by Modex-The entrepreneurship Club of NMIMS, Bangalore on 3rd August. Congratulations to the Winners Shubham Chauhan, Apoorva Jain and Moksha Shah.
  • HRiday- The HR Club of NMIMS Bangalore organized "Top Talent”- a week-long process to select the top 10 percent performers of batch PGDM 09. "Top Talent” is intended to prepare first year students for their Summer Internship Interviews and involve rigorous round of Interviews, Group Discussions and Screening processes. Congratulations to all the winners of PGDM 09.
  • New Director assumes charge at NMIMS Bangalore Dr. Vinay A, Professor in Finance has assumed charge as the new Director at NMIMS Bengaluru campus from 4 June 2018. A PhD in Finance he has served IIM Lucknow for over 16 years as Professor, chaired the PhD program and was the Director of IIM Lucknow Incubation centre. An avid researcher with many international publications to his credit, Dr. Vinay has designed and developed cutting edge academic programs for executives across several continents. He has been an invited trainer for several companies including Morgan Stanley (India), LPS Bossard and Watanmaal (Ghanna) and has coordinated executive programs in London, Paris, Amsterdam, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Singapore and several other countries.
  • "Tagathon 3.0” was organized by Margene- The Marketing Club of NMIMS, Bangalore on the 14th and 15th of July 2018. Congratulations to the winners Ishika Khanna and Aditi Rastogi.
  • "Empire State”- A resource allocation and Inventory Management Competition was organized by Nirantar- The Operations Club of NMIMS, Bangalore on the 16th of July 2018. Congratulations to the teams Agile 3 (Winners) and Rangers (Runners Up) who emerged as the winners.
  • Our PGDM students Harish Advani & Aakash Baid secured the 1st place at the national level inter-collegiate fest Revelation 2018 held at Symbiosis Institute of Business Management Bangalore. The fest attracted approx 1000 from various B Schools across the country. Harish & Aakash emerged winner in FINASCRE where there were multiple finance based rounds on campus like Open Outcry Trading, Guess the Finance Term etc.
  • NITYAKSH VI the annual Management and Cultural Fest of NMIMS Bengaluru was held for 4 Days in the last week of September. The fest witnessed both Management & Cultural events with Pan India Participation. It concluded with a Star Night at the Le Meridien with International DJ’s – Teri Miko and Zaeden.
  • Finance week is a three day fest organised by Mudra – The Finance Club of NMIMS. It is held on both, PAN India and intra college level. It encourages students from all specialisations to enhance their knowledge on the subject of finance.
  • Abdullah & Shoaib emerged winners in Advolution 3.0 which was a marketing and anaytics competition. They battled their way through 3 national-level rounds an online quiz, a poster cum ad designing round and finally devising a strategy for Zoomcar that would help the company to expand its operations in one of the. tier-two cities to be the National Champions
  • Tagathon – Margene, the Marketing Club of NMIMS organised Tagathon on 15th and 16th July 2017. Students had to think of a punchline which reminded them of their friend and upload it on Facebook. It was a highly successful fun event.
  • Vivek Kamath & Manasi Bhadane, PGDM 07 students secured First place in Enigmatics – Analytics Case Challenge held at IIFT, Kolkata

  • Business Conclave 2017 was held at The Lalit Ashok on the theme Shifting Horizons. Several interactive sessions with top professionals such as Mr. Prakash Iyer, Ex MD Kimberly Clark & Mr. Ajay Nanavati, Chairman Syndicate Bank were held. Over 170 students & corporates attended.
  • Our PGDM students Abdullah and Shoaib secured the 1st position at the national level inter-collegiate competition – Advolution 3.0 conducted by International Management Institute, Delhi. The competition attracted participants from various B Schools across the country.

  • Top Talent – Hriday, The human Resource Club of NMIMS organised Top Talent on 28th July to provide an opportunity to the students to showcase their talent and emerge as the Top 10 Percentile of their batch.
  • On June 21, around 400 participants including our students, teaching and non teaching staff will take part in the International Yoga Day celebrations at our Bannerghatta Campus. Students will also showcase their creative writing skills by participating in an Essay competition to mark the occasion.
  • The students will receive their diplomas from the Chief Guest, nominee of the Chancellor and Vice Chancellor in the presence of the Vice Provost Management Education, Director, Registrar, members of the Faculty body and their parents and spouses. Cash awards and certificates of merit will be given to the top ranking students.
  • Toastmasters International is a platform where leaders are made. The NMIMS Bengaluru chapter of Toastmasters International was charted on 1st December 2016 with the mission of making a difference to people’s lives. Under the valuable guidance of our mentors Dr. Deepti Ganapathy, Mr. Jeetinder Jain and Mrs. Vanitha Rangarajan Jha we intend to add value to anyone who joins our initiative.
  • NMIMS Bengaluru will be celebrating its seventh annual graduation ceremony on April 22, 2017. The Chief Guest is Mr. K. Venkatramanan Retd. CEO and Managing Director , Larsen & Toubro. 158 students from the PGDM and 81 from the Executive PGDM programs will be receiving their diplomas this year.
  • Pratyush Sharma and Harish Advani, PGDM students of NMIMS Bengaluru, won the "Stock and Roll” competition organised by SP Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR) recently in Mumbai.
