‘Analytics for better Bengaluru’ was held on 22nd January, 2015 at NMIMS Bangalore campus as the extension of the flagship event of the college, the 5th – ‘Analytics Day’, held on 6th December, 2014.

NMIMS Bangalore campus aims to be a centre of excellence in the field of analytics. Keeping this vision in mind, NMIMS-B has taken a major step towards bringing analytics as a domain in mainstream by offering a specialization in the analytics field in its PGDM course. Looking at the limited awareness regarding analytics domain amongst the academic circles as well as the corporate world, NMIMS Bangalore also has a dedicated day for analytics – Analytics Day. The event was a platform where 5 segments of the society – Government, Corporates, NGOs, Academia and the students came together with a common objective. The event was graced by the presence of

Mr. Kaushik Mukherjee, the Chief Secretary of Karnataka State, Mr. Anjum Parwez, Chairman, BWSSB, Mr. M. Lakshmi Narayana, Commissioner Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike and Mr. B Dayananda, ACP Traffic.

The students of NMIMS, Bangalore presented on how Analytics can be deployed to tackle the three major problems of the society – Water Scarcity, Waste and Traffic and to shape a better Bengaluru. A detailed analysis on the topic and the way ahead was done during the Panel discussion by the eminent dignitaries. The discussion was moderated by Prof. Suresh Mony, Director of NMIMS, Bangalore and Mr. Harsha Rao. Many industry leaders from various companies like eBay, Accenture, Analyttica Datalab, Mu Sigma were the part of the audience. The enthusiastic participation of corporate leaders and the students in the discussion showcased how analytics can be used in the social space as well. The event ‘Analytics for better Bengaluru’ was a great success both in terms of the participation by the government and corporates and enthusiastic involvement of students.
